Aflred Adler was an Austrian Psychologist in the late 19th century who developed Individual Psychology, a school of thought that emphasized the holistic nature of human beings and the importance of social relationships in shaping personality and behavior. He identified three life tasks—work, love, and social connections—as universal challenges that shape a person’s sense of purpose and fulfillment. Basically, everyone needs to have a sense of belonging and has a natural desire connect with other people in deep and meaningful ways. We also need to have responsibilities or some kind of contribution to society to feel fulfilled and escape our feelings of inferiority.
