Have you felt pressure to figure out what to do with the rest of your life?
Have you struggled with finding direction in life? Do you often feel lonely?
Are you getting concerned about your mental health?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, do not fret. I have a solution.
My name is Preston Defosses.
My mission is to help other young adults with the internal struggles that I have personally faced in this modern world with the highest potency drugs, hoopla from the internet, and socio-economic pressures.
Studies show that more and more young people are suffering with what I like to call, "A Classic Case of Quarter Life Crisis." This is when you freak out and try to figure out what you're going to do with your life. I believe our generation deals with immense pressure from this due to the internet. On instagram, we self compare to successful millionaire twenty year olds and child proteges and think, "damn, I wish I could be like that but..."
(Insert your limiting belief)
Even though the internet has connected people to make major innovations in our world, it appears Young Adults are reporting higher numbers of Quarter Life Crisis Syndrome and loneliness. I believe the pressures of social media and our world of instant gratification have made this issues much worse.
When it comes to our needs as Young Adults, most are missing out on a sense of belonging and it is significantly impacting people's mental health. You can see on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs that we build from the base. For example, if we are to feel safe we need our physiological needs taken care of first.
My solution to isolation and feeling lost (lacking of purpose) for Young Adults is COMMUNITY.
Okay, so you may be wondering how community can help with your Quarter Life Crisis.
Let me explain.
(Of course you need a intimate social network to move up to esteem needs.)
Maybe you're like me and want to start your own business.
Guess what you need to start one: CONNECTIONS.
Networking with like minded people is not only going to inspire you, but you could potentially meet people to make a business with, TOGETHER.
Even if you're not looking to work with anyone, you're still going to need clients. People to buy your product or service.
If you're a young adult who feels depressed or overwhelmed with life, I want to invite you to our community, Help for Lost Souls. Join our discord to connect and view our website to find a weekly support group.
Engaging with positive healthy connections is a form of self-care.
Fact: You are good enough. You're worthy of love.
If you're struggling come talk to people going through similar circumstances.
Please,
take care of your souls.
